The Full Story
Northeastern Colorado Manufacturing (NECOM) was formed in 2017 as a result of Governor Hickenlooper’s state Economic Development plan called the Colorado Blueprint. The Blueprint identified 14 key sectors of the economy in Colorado by region. Northeastern Colorado’s main sector was identified as Advanced Manufacturing. Regions within the state were encouraged to form sector relationships to provide more localized grass roots support to augment state efforts in manufacturing.

As part of the Blueprint process, a kick-off meeting with invited guests representing the manufacturing industry, education, economic development, and Colorado Workforce was held to organize the Northeast Colorado Manufacturers. NECOM is business led and FREE membership is open to all manufacturers, supporting businesses, educational institutions and interested public agencies and organizations. NECOM has a Core Team comprised of manufacturers, education and public organizations who provide opportunities to network, attend educational presentations and talent development tours.
